Following her graduation from high school Contractor received a scholarship from the University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of sociology and psychology. Additionally, she earned a Master's degree in Theatre. Contractor landed her first role following her first year at university. She received rave reviews for her performance in the 92 shows performed the play was voted"the best show of 2002" by Canadian critics in 2002. She accepted the invitation to attend Stratford's conservatory, a program which allows just four men and eight women can take the 20-week crash program in classical theatre. Her place was guaranteed during the upcoming season of shows She was also offered Hermia's part for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
